Your nominate muticus "Java Green" birds are really Malay Pahang form, I think you know that, and that Malaysian and Javan are not identical. Also, the Javan has another distinct race.

They even think that some of the green peafowl shown are really if different species!!!!!!!!!! The call some of them \"Pahang Dragonbirds\" P. muticus (no, not P. m muticus Javan because they say that\'s another species).

Is there more than one species of Green Peafowl becuase I saw a few websites that talk about the existence of the "Malay Dragonbird", "Deqen Dragonbird" and many more.

Nice pictures. Beautifull birds. I myself have 2+2 blackwing blue peacock. I have another place where I also could keep Peacocks. Are they difficult to keep ? My peacocks are winterhard, but I suppose these birds are not. How do you keep them ? When do you keep them in (what time of the year)? Do you sell these and at what price ? Do you know other places where they breed them ?

Ich habe seit Juli 2005 4 Stück (2x1,1) Ehrenträgerpfauen, inzwischen hab ich einiges Lehrgeld
bezahlen müssen. Die Tiere stammen aus einer bekannten Zuchtanlage. Ich züchte außerdem
federfüßige Zwerge Goldporzellanfarbig und perllgrau mit weißen Tupfen, Goldfasane und
Elliotfasane. Ich habe mich über die Pfauen vorher kundig gemacht, ich weiß das sie
frostempfindlich sind und habe den Stall danach gebaut. Leider mußte ich feststellen, das
sie sehr gegen den Schwarzkopf anfällig sind. Inzwischen habe ich alles in Griff, alle sind
wohl auf und fressen mir aus der Hand. Ich würde mich für jedenden Ratschlag freuen. In
Recklinghausen haben wir uns leider verpaßt. Am WPA-Stand (in dem ich auch Mitglied bin)
habe ich erfahren, das Sie auch da waren.
Ich hoffe auf eine Gute Verbindung zu mir nach Ostthüringen.
