I bumped into Martin and Nadia in Royalton along Route 107 just around sundown on Sunday Oct 18th. What ambition. I didn't get to talk long as I was headed to work and these two needed to find a place to camp for the night. Good luck on the trip, so many questions I wanted to ask.

I hope your travels in Vermont go well. You just left my house this morning, well around 12:00. You need to beat the snow!

Nice WEB site! I made some more fruit jerky and hope to make some more deer and elk jerky--and when I do, I will send you some road food. Sad news, on August 29th this year, I lost my mom to the cancer. Both of us truly enjoyed your short visit along Highway 12. A co-worker and friend saw my face on your website--wondered how I got my face there. Maybe I will let him wonder for awhile!

Vancouver in der Strasse von Georgia, eigentlich wollte ich euch ja einladen mal vorbei zu schauen wenn ihr dann in Kanada seid, seid ihr ja jetzt, but oh well, I left the island and canada in december, and have been travelling since, quite unexpectedly for soooooo lonng!!!, the last four months 6000km by bike from switzerland to slovakia along the danube and up to Estonia and am now in Åland, soon sweden and then heading south to portugal, seem to be unable to find the stop-button for the trip, must have lost it on these bumpy Lithuanian Roads.
so sorry i missed your presence in canada and thus cannot host you if you come to BC because i'm not home, but hey if i keep going might run into you when you come riding up from africa.

Verfolge eure Reise schon ne ganze weile, wohne auf Lasqueti Island, BC, solltet ihr euch echt antun, 70km2 insel abseits des stromnetzes, keine autofähre, keine polizei, die hälfte der bevölkerung lebt vom marihuana anbau, telefone und internet gibt es, sogar schule und community hall, viel Wald, tolles paddeln und segeln, cactuses in the nature, it is the mildest area of canada!!!! many artists and musicians, allrounders, some boatbuilders like myself, basketmakers like my best budddy from switzerland and many other creative souls, the whole island has a little bit the asterix village spirit, everyone makes their own electricity, (see next entry for rest of text)

forgot to wish you all the best, and hope to maybe meet up with you some day on MY bicycle.If you ever end up in Maine be sure to look me up.

I am feeling very close to making the decision to head off. I have sailed the Atlantic(5 times) spent time on the Comoros, Brazil and now reside in the US(20+ years), no longer married so need to get going once again.

We drove all the way up to Whitehorse, Yukon in August and we thought of you all the time because we saw so many bikers on the way! nachdem sich meine Schwester ja schon gemeldet hat, wollte ich Euch nach zwei Wochen im inzwischen wieder kaltem Deutschland doch auch noch liebe Grüße senden.
Das Kanufahren war einfach klasse und die Abende mit vielen Erinnerungen an alte Zeiten haben Spaß gemacht. Unser kleiner Benedikt hat aus Kanada nach Mama, Papa und WauWau sein viertes Wort "Byebye" mit einer Winkgeste mitgebracht und begrüsst damit freudestrahlend jeden neuen Gast, was für einige Verwirrung sorgt. Ich bin mir aber sicher, dass er Euch bei der Rückkehr in Deutschland schon sprachlich korrekt begrüßen kann... Wir haben das "Riesenschiff" erfolgreich in Vancouver abgegeben, und inzwischen ist auch die ganze Familie wieder in Deutschland angekommen. Der Kleine kämpft grad noch mit den Jetlag, aber das wir dauch besser.

Also ich hätte einen kleinen Vorschlag für eure Heimreise: Also Afrika sollte schon noch drin sein- da könntet ihr ja zur Schitourensaison im Atlasgebirge sein. Dann setzt ihr nach Sizilien über- fahrt den italienischen Stiefel hoch und dann- der wichtigste Teil- schließt sich der kreis eurer Weltumrundung am.......hauptplatz von linz- dort dürft ihr euch dann bei der haberfehlner-familiy von den strapazen erholen - übernachtung und verpflegung ist natürlich inklusive. wenn ihr wollt dürft ihr auch wieder eure wäsche in unserer neuen waschmaschine waschen.
Ich wünsche euch also weiterhin toi toi toi- genießt die schlussphase eurer reise so wie alles bisher- denn das merkt man euren genialen berichten an.

Übrigends helfen normale Wasserfilter nicht gegen Chemikalien. Höchstens ein bischen wenn auch eine Kohlefilter integriert ist.
